Lew & Huey Watch Company and Watchuseek is partnering for a new project watch codename Spectre. The project is based on the Orthos case, but takes several design cues from vintage and modern Omega Seamasters, particularly the ’57 and ’67 SM 300’s.
You may know that Omega brought back ’57 SM 300 in the new Co-Axial Seamaster 300 that will be worn by James Bond(Daniel Craig) in the new bond movie Spectre. This new watch from Omega is the inspiration for the new forum project on WUS.
The project is currently in the development phase as all the parts are being made determine by forum members vote. Visit HERE for more info.
Only 200 to 250 watches will be made of this limited edition WUS project watch. The watch will be available in black and blue, with or without a date window at 3. As a tribute to both the fictional spy and his creator, author Ian Fleming, the logo will likely emulate the square-and-three-braids rank insignia for Commanders serving in the British RNVR (Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve), the rank both Ian and Bond held in said service. Likewise, our dial text will tentatively include “Commander 300” in script, in place of Omega’s “Seamaster 300”.
Lew & Huey will also make a new Orthos watch at the same time with similar design cues. The new Orthos will be limited to 100-300 with eight new dial/bezel color combinations and limited to as little as ten pieces per combination.
Both the forum project watch and the new Orthos should be delivered around April 2016. Pre-orders should start near the end of October or beginning of November, with an initial starting pre-order price of $350, or $325 if you buy two or more.
